Philippe Cuvelier SA, a subsidiary of SigmaRoc Plc, is operating two sandstone quarries and a limestone quarry. The sandstone quarries are located in the towns of Marchin, and Modave. The limestone quarry is located in the municipality of Modave.

In the quarries, stones of different gradings are extracted. The main products is gabion stone for use in dyke reinforcements. The products are transported to a loading quay along the Meuse, then loaded and transported by boat to their final destinations.

Philippe Cuvelier SA also produces a full range of crushed products from its limestone quarry in Modave.  The applications are primarily for building and road concrete construction.

OperationS

Philippe Cuvelier SA extracts from their quarries stones of different sizes, the main outlet being the rock cover. Material of different sizes is transported to a loading dock along the Meuse river and then loaded and transported by boat to to its final destination with a large proportion being to Holland.

Rock fill sizes:

32-125 mm, 45-125 mm, 63-180 mm, 90-180 mm 5-40 kg, 10-60 kg, 40-200 kg, 60-300 kg, 300-1000kg and flat stones over 500kg

Crushed grades:

Philippe Cuvelier SA also produces from its Modave quarry a complete range of crushed products, the main sizes of which are 0-4 mm, 2-8 mm and 8-14mm, as well as foundation, drainage material and many more as required.

These materials are regularly tested by our internal control department as well as by certifying bodies.

The other two quarries are located in the town of Modave and have the potential to extract 100.000 and 200.000 tons of stones per year.
